Dear Friends,

Thank you all for your support on election day 2010. I am humbled by the strong vote you gave me and the trust you have placed in me. I will do my best to earn that trust as we enter a new era in the Minnesota Senate.

For the first time in decades Republicans dominate the Minnesota Senate. This will create new opportunities for our state as we struggle to balance our budget by trimming unnecessary spending while funding services that meet the needs of citizens of our district and the state. I look forward to working for you as the session opens in January.

You should also know that I was designated by the majority caucus to serve as the President of the Senate. This marks the first time a woman has been selected for the position.
